Baked Garlic

Cut just the very top off the garlic; pour oil over garlic. Salt and pepper to taste. Wrap garlic in aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until soft. Remove from foil, and plate. Serve with toast points, warm, crunchy french bread or crackers.

Fry bacon until crisp and remove from skillet- set aside. Toast pecan halves in bacon grease over low heat, remove and drain on paper towels.
For dressing: Mix sugar, dry mustard, paprika, celery salt, honey, lemon juice, vinegar, and olive oil in a bowl.
Toss two bags of mixed lettuces or two heads of romaine lettuce with bacon pieces, pecans and drained mandarin oranges. Pour dressing over and toss lightly.

Drain crabmeat, removing any bits of shell. Combine egg and next eight ingredients; stir into crabmeat. Shape into 6 three-inch patties. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden. (Do not over bake)
Shown served with a small salad and a wedge of lemon.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside. Beat egg yolks until pale yellow then blend in lemon peel, juice, and milk; add sugar, flour, and salt. Beat until smooth. Fold into egg whites. Pour into ungreased 1-quart casserole dish. Place dish in large casserole dish of very hot water (1 inch deep) Bake 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
